Transitioning to a low-carbon, circular and sustainable economy

Non-financial performance, and in particular that relating to all aspects of CSR, is a strategic issue for all companies wishing to maintain or improve their attractiveness and competitiveness in the marketplace, but also with regard to their employees. The spotlight is on the ambitious objectives of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

 

Introduced by the French Law on Energy Transition for Green Growth (LTECV), the National Low-Carbon Strategy (SNBC) is France’s roadmap for combating climate change. It provides guidelines for implementing the transition to a low-carbon, circular and sustainable economy in all sectors of activity.

 

Scope 3 (GHGs not directly linked to the manufacture of the product) often represents more than 2/3 of the stakes and the Purchasing Function is in fact strongly and directly involved through its supplier ecosystem. This is another opportunity for the Purchasing Function to demonstrate its value and transform these legitimate constraints into opportunities.
